Silver platter

Objectnumber: RA 0147

Height: 1.5 cm

Diameter: 22.0 cm

Material: metal

This silver platter is part of the items Elizabeth “Bess” Magids is said to have brought with her when she, after waiting for Roald Amundsen for several weeks in 1928, returned to Alaska. She later handed over the objects to the Norwegian-American couple Olav and Rosellen Lillegraven, who in 1975 donated it back to Amundsen’s home.

The platter has a chiseled wreath with a floral motif, in the middle a monogram RA.
