Photo, Eivind Astrup monument, Hjerkinn

A photo of Eivind Astrup’s monument on Hjerkinn was found at Amundsen’s home in 2015. Whether Amundsen visited the site himself, and how he obtained the photograph, are unknown.

The monument was erected a few years after Astrup’s death on the site where he was found in 1896.
