No.41 Pozos Dulces Street,

HABANA, Republic of Cuba,

in the Antilles, America.

June 20th, 1925.

Mr. Roald Amundsen,

     C/o Geographical Society,

            OSLO (Christiania),Norway.

Sir: –

As an enthusiast in Geographical studies and discoveries I do

find myself impelled to write you these lines to show you my great

admiration for the heroism shown by yourself and the other members

of your expedition, in your recent attempt to reach the North Pole

in an aeroplane.

As a native of this small island, located in the tropical

belt of the Globe I have never had the chance to admire the beauty

of the artic regions, but I have read lots about it and have practi-

cally devoured the information published by the newspapers regarding

your start and your return from the unknown North.

Kindly accept therefore my most sincere congratulations for

your safe return to civilized life, and let us hope that your next

expedition will meet with the desired success.

                                    Cordially yours

                                               L M Centurion [by hand]
