Frosne erobringer (Frozen conquests)

1:5 Juks og bedrageri i polarisen (Cheating and fraud in the polar ice)

On the piano in Amundsen’s home lay a white lace table runner. It was embroidered by Frederick Cook, the man who proclaimed himself “Conqueror of the North Pole”. Cook claimed to have been the first man to reach the world’s most northerly point, but many called him “The Swindler Prince”. Did he speak the truth? Some are willing to go to great lengths for a record, and polar history is full of cheats.

The Norwegian podcasts Frosne erobringer (Frozen conquests) are produced by Filt Oslo in collaboration with Follo museum for A-magasinet.
